Apply for the Silver Quality Award & Elevate Quality Care in Your Facility
We offer expert guidance and proven strategies to ensure your success in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program
The Application Feels Like a Foreign Language: You know your facility inside and out, but the award application questions seem written in a different language. You struggle to understand exactly what they're asking and how to best showcase your strengths.
You're Flying Blind with No Roadmap: The AHCA/NCAL guidelines provide a starting point, but you're left guessing about the specifics. You're never quite sure if you're on the right track, which leads to wasted time, second-guessing, and anxiety.
The 60% Failure Rate Looms Large: With most applicants not making the cut, the Silver Quality Award feels unattainable. You worry that your hard work and dedication won't be recognized, leaving you stuck and unrecognized.

Similar to the Bronze Award, to apply for the Silver Award, your organization must be a member in good standing of AHCA/NCAL. The membership needs to cover all services included in your application (e.g., if applying for both assisted living and skilled nursing, your membership should include both).
No, to be eligible for the Silver Award, your organization must have already received the Bronze Quality Award. This ensures you have a foundation in the quality improvement principles of the program.
Skilled nursing care centers must meet the following survey criteria to receive the Silver Award: No regulatory deficiencies at the Immediate Jeopardy or Substandard Quality of Care level on any Medicare/Medicaid survey in cycles 1 and 2. A weighted two-cycle survey score equal to or below 60 points, with cycle 1 weighted 2/3 and cycle 2 weighted 1/3, OR at least three stars on the Survey component of the Five-Star System.
Yes, for ICF/IID providers, the requirement is that the count of Conditions of Participation Deficiencies on your most recent standard surveys is below your state average for the past two fiscal years (October 2021 to September 2023).
Even if your facility doesn't meet all the survey criteria, you are still encouraged to apply for the Silver Award. While you won't be eligible to receive the award this year, you will receive valuable feedback on your application. This feedback can guide your improvement efforts and help you achieve the Silver Award in the future.
